The code of our nation

The code of our nation

We are proud to wear embroidered shirts not only on holidays, but on weekdays. Not only on the streets of Lviv, Kyiv, or Poltava, but also in Poland, Canada, and Africa.
Vyshyvanka is not just an ancient part of our nation’s wardrobe that was passed down to descendants and served as a talisman for its wearer. Today, vyshyvanka is the clothing of free people. It is a symbol of Ukrainian strength and a modern weapon against Russian propaganda.

We thank @roksolyana_shymchuk for giving us the opportunity to remember who we are today.

The video was shot during Ukraine’s diplomatic visit to South Africa as part of the Free the Children concert. The event was aimed at establishing ties between Ukrainian and South African artists, as well as drawing attention to the more than 19 500 Ukrainian children illegally deported by Russia.

The concert was organized by the @ukrainian_institute in partnership with the South African private non-profit foundation @niroxfoundation.
